Stowarzyszenie Akwedukt – Integration Kindergarten in Kwidzyn

Working with children and youth

Become a master of Integration at the Colorful Kindergarten! (Education & Care Giver) Why do we do this? Kindergarten is a place where the world of normative children meets the world of children with disabilities and dysfunctions. Our mission is integration – we show that everyone is important, regardless of whether they run fast or use a wheelchair. We create a safe haven where children, parents, and teachers learn empathy and openness to difference from each other. Who are we looking for? (Your Profile) We are looking for someone with a heart on their sleeve who is not afraid of „dirty work” (yes, sometimes you have to wipe a nose!) and loves children. • Empathy level hard: You are sensitive to the needs of others and patient. • Openness: You are not afraid of working with children with disabilities. You want to understand their world. • Energy: You like singing, dancing, cutting out shapes, and rolling on the carpet. • Initiative: You want to show children your country, language, and culture.

What will you do? You will be a full member of the teaching team. Your work is a mix of fun, education, and care. Here are your challenges: 1. Daily care and safety: o You help with self-service activities: dressing for a walk, washing hands, helping with meals (setting the table, feeding). o You ensure the safety of children during play in the room and on the playground. 2. Education and fun: o You support teachers in conducting didactic, art, and music classes. o You prepare teaching aids – cutting, gluing, painting is your everyday life. o You conduct mini-lessons of English or your native language through play. 3. Specialist therapies: o You assist in hippotherapy (horses), dogotherapy (dogs), and rehabilitation classes. o You take part in projects with animals: meetings with alpacas, cats, and even… rats!. 4. Culture and holidays: o You decorate the kindergarten for important celebrations (Grandmother’s Day, Holidays) and help organize them. o You present your country – you cook regional dishes, teach songs and traditions.

Sposób wsparcia Wolontariusza

Working with children (especially with disabilities) can be a challenge, but at the Colorful Kindergarten, you have full support: • Learning work methods: You will learn professional educational and therapeutic methods. You will see what child development looks like „from the kitchen”. • Teacher mentoring: You work side by side with qualified teachers who will tell you how to react in difficult situations. • Coordination: You have constant contact with the coordinator in the kindergarten and with the Akwedukt team (Anna and Marta), who take care of your formal and living matters. • Understanding: We know this might be your first job of this type. We give you time to adapt and get to know the children.

Co organizacja oferuje Wolontariuszowi

Your Gain • Future competencies: You will gain experience in care and educational work, valuable for future educators, psychologists, or animators. • Youthpass certificate: Official confirmation of your skills recognized in the EU. • ESC Package: Accommodation in an apartment with other volunteers, food allowance, pocket money, insurance, and travel reimbursement. • Gratitude: Drawings from children, hugs, and the satisfaction that you are helping to shape little humans. Stowarzyszenie Akwedukt – City and County Library in Kwidzyn

Culture, art, conservation of monuments and traditions

Become an engineer of imagination & technology at the Library! (Culture & tech creator) Forget the stereotype of a library where you have to be quiet and only dust books. Our Library is a vibrant center of culture and… technology! We operate on two tracks: in the Rental Department for children and in the Multicentrum – a place where the world of books meets robotics, graphics, and digital music. Our mission is not only education but also breaking barriers – we show residents that culture has no borders and technology is for everyone. Who are we looking for? (Your Profile) We are looking for a hybrid: part geek, part artist, and above all, a social activist. • You like new technologies, LEGO bricks, and computer operation is your daily bread. • You have an animator’s streak – you are not afraid to lead workshops for a bunch of kids or talk to a senior. • You are creative – you can come up with activities out of nothing (or out of cardboard and glue). • You want to share your culture – cooking, language, and literature of your country are your aces up your sleves. Description of offered work (What will you do?) Your work will be a mix of analog and digital activities. You won’t be bored! Here are your challenges: 1. TECH Zone (Multicentrum): o You will support (and eventually lead) classes in robotics, IT, and construction (LEGO, K’nex systems). o You will help children understand the world of science through play in the „MultiRobotyka” module – building and controlling models. 2. CULTURE Zone (Library): o You will conduct library lessons and bibliotherapy classes – reading has the power to heal, and you will help children discover it. o International Book Club: You will promote literature from your country, organize author meetings, and book discussions. o Culture Wagon: You will help organize events, author meetings, and craft workshops. 3. MEDIA & PR Zone: o You will become our „Social Media Ninja”. You will create graphics, shoot educational videos, or maybe even record podcasts promoting the library. o Promoting volunteering: You will go out to youth in schools to tell them that the library is a cool place to start. 4. GREY REALITY Zone (But important!): o Yes, books get damaged. Sometimes you will have to play „book doctor” – gluing, binding, and archiving collections are also part of the tasks. o Support during „Summer/Winter with the Library” campaigns – i.e., intensive semi-camps for children.

Sposób wsparcia Wolontariusza

The library is a friendly place where you have space for mistakes and learning. • Technical training: You don’t have to be a robotics engineer at the start. The Multicentrum team will train you in operating educational systems, robots, and software. • Language mentoring: We will support you in conducting language classes (English + your language), providing materials and ideas. • Content supervisor: There is always a librarian/educator on site who will help you handle a group of kids if the energy gets out of control. • Akwedukt support: Standard – coordinators (Anna and Marta) and your personal Mentor ensure that you have someone to go out with after work and feel at home in Kwidzyn.

Co organizacja oferuje Wolontariuszowi

Your Gain • Modern skills (STEM): You will learn how to use advanced educational tools (robotics, programming, computer graphics), which looks great on a CV. • Your own project: Do you have an idea for comic book workshops? Cultural days of your country? The library will give you space and materials to make it happen. • ESC package: Accommodation, food allowance, pocket money, insurance, travel reimbursement. • Magic of culture: Free access to books, music, meetings with writers, and cultural events in the city. Logistics: • Where: City and County Library in Kwidzyn (City center). • Time: Full time (approx. 30-38h), shift work (the library is also open in the afternoons), sometimes Saturdays (during events). How to apply? Send your CV to biuro@akwedukt.org.pl. Join us and show that the library is not boring!

Mentor Wolontariusza

ROLA: (Dla lokalnych aktywistów, studentów, mieszkańców, którzy chcą pomóc w życiu „po pracy”) Zostań lokalnym przewodnikiem (i Przyjacielem) Wolontariusza! Dlaczego to robimy? Kogo szukamy? (Twój Profil) Szukamy „lokalsów” z dobrym sercem! • Znasz Kwidzyn i lubisz swoje miasto. Twoje zadania to życie codzienne i integracja: • Wsparcie na starcie: Pomagasz ogarnąć „polską dżunglę” – założenie konta w banku, wizyta u lekarza, znalezienie najlepszej pizzy w mieście.

• Wsparcie koordynatora: Masz stały kontakt z nami. Jeśli sytuacja Cię przerośnie (np. wolontariusz zachoruje lub będzie miał trudny moment) – przejmujemy pałeczkę. Nie jesteś psychoterapeutą ani lekarzem, masz nasze pełne wsparcie. • Sieć Mentorów: Dołączysz do grupy innych mentorów.

Become the Voice and Heart of International Kwidzyn! (Project & media master) We are Akwedukt – an organization that isn’t afraid to dream and act. Our mission is local development, activating inhabitants, and promoting cultural diversity. Since 2015, we have hosted over 300 volunteers, transforming Kwidzyn into a place open to the world. We are not „just an office” – we are the command center supporting 8 other organizations, mentors, and coordinators. Join us to build bridges between cultures! 1. Education and cultural animation: o Get out into the field! You will conduct presentations about the ESC program and your country in local secondary schools. Your goal is to inspire youth to be active and volunteer. o Together with the team, you will plan and implement „Culture Week” semi-camps for children – a week full of workshops, games, and intercultural fun. o You will organize intercultural meetings for locals – from culinary evenings (cooking your traditional dishes!) to language presentations. o You will support us during major events, such as International Volunteer Day. 3. Your own mark: o Have an idea for your own project? We give you a free hand! You can implement your own educational or promotional formats, building your professional portfolio along the way.

Sposób wsparcia Wolontariusza

We know that moving to another country is a great adventure, but also stressful. That’s why in Akwedukt, you will never be alone. We will be your signpost in the maze of tasks and Polish reality. • Mentoring system: You will receive your personal Mentor – a person who is not your boss, but a friend. They will help you integrate with the local community, show you where the best pizza in town is, and listen when you have a bad day. • Substantive support: We don’t throw you into the deep end without a lifebuoy. We will teach you active forms of work, creating educational materials, and project management. If you work in media, we will help you plan your work and advise on tools to use. • Adaptation and safety: We will help you with administrative matters, doctor visits, or opening a bank account. We are here to make you feel safe. • Supervision: Regular meetings with the team will allow us to discuss your progress, solve problems, and plan the next steps in your development on an ongoing basis.

Stowarzyszenie Akwedukt – Public Kindergarten in Gardeja

Work with children at Gardeja kindergarten

Become an Explorer in the „International Village”! (Village Kindergarten Animator) 🌳 Why do we do this? Gardeja is a charming village near Kwidzyn. Here, time flows slower, people know each other, and the kindergarten is the heart of the community. Our „International Village” project aims to show children from rural areas (3-6 years old) that the world is big and diverse, even if they live far from a big city. You will often be the first person from abroad they meet in their lives. This is a huge responsibility and an even bigger adventure! Who are we looking for? (Your Profile) We are looking for someone who loves nature and wants to get to know the „real Poland”, not just the tourist trails. Nature Lover: You don’t mind silence, singing birds, and the lack of a shopping mall around the corner. Pioneer: You like being the center of attention – for the local community, you will be an exotic curiosity and a guest of honor. Warmth and Openness: You have a way with children who need a moment to trust a new person. Readiness to Commute: Gardeja is located approx. 15 km from Kwidzyn – a daily short bus/train trip is time for a book or podcast for you (we pay for the tickets!). Description of Offered Work (What will you do? – The Honest Truth) You will be the right hand of teachers and a window to the world for 90 preschoolers. Here is your rural mission: Education and Fun: You help lead art, music, and movement classes. Together with children, you cut, glue, and create wonders out of paper. You teach through play – introducing simple words in your language or English at every opportunity. Daily Care: You support children in self-service activities: washing hands, dressing for a walk (in autumn and winter, it’s a challenge!), helping with meals. You ensure safety during play in the room and in the yard. Culture Ambassador: Cooking! You will have the opportunity to prepare dishes from your region for children, parents, and invited guests. You present your traditions and customs, inspiring children to learn about other countries. Local Activity: You take part in trips, getting to know the surrounding forests, local environment, and institutions. You help organize kindergarten parties, making decorations and gifts for guests.

Sposób wsparcia Wolontariusza

Description of Volunteer Support Working in a smaller town has its specific charm, and we will make sure you feel comfortable there: Logistics: We provide monthly tickets for commuting to Gardeja. You don’t worry about transport costs. Family Atmosphere: The staff in rural kindergartens is usually very close-knit. You will quickly feel like a family member, not an „employee”. Language Lessons: Children in Gardeja speak English less often than in the city, so you will learn Polish very quickly in practice. Akwedukt Support: Although you work in Gardeja, you live in Kwidzyn with other volunteers. You have the best of both worlds: work in nature and social life in the city.

Co organizacja oferuje Wolontariuszowi

What does the organization offer the volunteer in return? (Your Gain) Unique Experience: You will see what education looks like in the Polish countryside. This is a perspective that volunteers in Warsaw or Krakow do not have. Culinary Journey: You will get to know traditional Polish flavors (village food is the best!) and share yours. Community Gratitude: In a small environment, your contribution is more visible and appreciated by parents and residents. ESC Package: Accommodation (in Kwidzyn), food allowance, pocket money, insurance, and travel reimbursement. Youthpass Certificate: Confirmation of your educational and cultural activities. Logistics: Where: Public Kindergarten in Gardeja (approx. 20 min commute from Kwidzyn). Time: Full time (approx. 30-38h), work from Monday to Friday. How to apply? Send your CV to biuro@akwedukt.org.pl. Discover the charm of the Polish countryside with us!

Stowarzyszenie Akwedukt – SMYK Foundation

Work with children at SMYK nursery

Become a Guide for Little Explorers at SMYK Nursery! (Toddler Caregiver) 👶 Why do we do this? The SMYK Foundation is a place where everything is „micro,” but hearts are „macro.” Our main mission is running a nursery for toddlers aged 2-3. This is that magical moment when a human learns to speak, walk without a diaper, and discovers that paint is not only for eating but also for painting. Besides care, we organize charity campaigns for sick children and support families from rural areas. We are looking for someone to help us create a second home for these little ones. Who are we looking for? (Your Profile) We are looking for someone who is not afraid of challenges (and sticky hands). Patience of an Angel: You understand that a two-year-old has the right to rebel, cry, and change their mind 5 times a minute. Caring Nature: You like to hug, comfort, and wipe away tears. You feel good in the role of a „big sister/brother.” No Fear of Physiology: Working in a nursery also means help with toileting and changing diapers. If this doesn’t scare you – you are our hero! Creativity: You can make a toy out of a shoebox and sing a song that will calm the group down. Description of Offered Work (What will you do? – The Honest Truth) You will support the „aunties” (teachers) in taming the daily element. Here is your day in a nutshell: Basic Care (The Base): You help with hygienic activities – washing hands, faces, helping in the toilet. You assist with meals – learning to hold a spoon is a big deal!
